Nigerian Meat Pie With Differrence

        There are many delicious Nigerian snacks loved by natives and tourists. Some of them can be baked in the oven and others can be prepared much quicker without it.                     INGREDIENTS

  • 8-9 cups of flour
  • 0.5 kilogram of magarine or butter.
  • 2 teaspoon of baking powder.
  • 2-4 pinches of salt(according to taste).
  • 1.5-2 cups of water.
  • 2 medium-sized pieces of carrots.
  • 2 medium-sized piece of onion.
  • 0.5 kilograms of  meat. 
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
  • 1 piece of egg.
  • 2  cubes
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
                   PROCEDURE
  1. You need a big bowl. Add the 8 cups of flour into it.
  2. Mix a bit of salt(1-2pinches) and the baking with the flour.
  3. You should cut the butter or margarine into pieces into the flour.






  1.  Rub the flour with butter using fingers.
  2. Form the dough by adding cold water carefully. It is enough to add 0.5 cups to make a greater quality dough is stiff and perfect for the meat pie.
  3. Let the dough set above 6 minutes.
  4. Peel and scrape your vegetables, then wash them. Cut both potatoes and carrots into small cubes, and wash onion, slice it into small pieces.
  5. Make a pot and add oil. You can heat it  at the medium fire and fry onion, and add the minced meat and stir everything together. Also add thyme and seasoning cubes.






  1. Once the ingredient is on fire bubbling, you can mix in the sliced potatoes and carrots from. Let everything cook for a while. All the vegetables should look well done.
  2. Take 0.5 cups of water and add 2 tablespoon of  flour. Make sure the water is cold then add the mixture to the ingredients to are cooking . This will help the pie to be moist.
  3. The filling is almost ready. Finish it by adding a bit of salt to your personal taste.
  4. Look for an alluminium pot you will use for baking. Add a clean sand to the bottom of it. While it is preheating, you can form the pies. 
  5. Roll out the dough. It should be 0.5 centimeter thick. Cut it round from the dough using  the cutter. All left overs should be set aside.
  6. Add the fillings to the pieces of dough you have cut out. Close each pie and it should look filled just enough to look delicious and yummy.
  7. Take a plate or bowl and  break the egg. You should use it while closing the dough pieces. Just add it to the edge to seal the meat pie perfectly. The edges can be sealed with a fork.
  8. Put each portion of dough on a flat surface. You will have a place each one into the egg so that the outside is covered with a thin layer.
  9. Place the pies in the baking pan and inside the pre-heated big  alluminium pot with sand. The process will take about half an hour. Sometimes these Nigerian snacks take 40- 50 minutes to bake.
  10. Flip the pieces every 5-7 minutes to avoid burning them. Then take out the meat pies cooked and enjoy this incredible meal.
